Livermore Public Library has introduced a new security feature to safeguard your library account. Patrons will create a secure library personal identification number (PIN). To setup your PIN, login to your library account and create a PIN (see requirements below). Need help adding or resetting a PIN? Watch this helpful Getting Started video or call 925-373-5505 during open hours for assistance.
The addition of Library PINs enhances transactions in your new library catalog which launched June 21, 2021. Featuring a modern, user-friendly design, the new catalog makes it easier to track your borrowing history, rate and review titles, and get personalized reading recommendations.
Requirements for PINS
PINs must contain 4 to 16 characters and are case-sensitive, they may be letters and numbers, but cannot contain "trivial patterns" such as:
- Consecutively repeating a character three or more times
(For example, aaaa, aaaax7gp, x7gp3333) - Consecutively repeating a set of up to four characters two or more times
(For example, abab, abcabc, abcdabcd, ababx7gp, x7gp3434)
If you enter a "trivial PIN," the system will display the following error message: “Your PIN is not complex enough to be secure. Please select another one.” After six failed attempts to log in with the same barcode in one minute, the system will block access to your account for one minute.
