Anyone may obtain a Livermore Public Library card. In addition to borrowing books, DVDs, CDs, and other items, your free card allows you to: download digital media, search electronic databases, take online classes, and get free museum passes from our Digital Library.

Library card applications are available at all three Livermore Public Library branches. You may also apply online for a temporary library card (valid for 30 days) which grants use of some online databases and allows items to be placed on hold. To turn your temporary card into a permanent card, stop by any branch within 30 days to present proof of your name and address.

Persons under 16 will need a parent or guardian to obtain a full-service juvenile card. If your child attends a school in the Livermore Joint Unified School District, they will automatically receive a library account unless you have opted out during registration. Traditional library cards or Student ID’s can be used interchangeably to access Livermore Public Library services.

Livermore Public Library cards must be presented when materials are checked out. Up to 10 hold requests may be placed at a time with your card. Items checked out with a Livermore Public Library card may be returned at any Livermore branch library.
