Livermore Public Library offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate through Career Online High School (COHS), an accredited national online high school district.

The library provides a limited number of scholarships to qualified adults who wish to earn their high school diploma to expand their career opportunities, prepare for workforce entry, or continue their education.

Do I Qualify?

  • Age 18 years or older
  • Live in the City of Livermore
  • Have completed at least the 8th grade
  • Have a library card in good standing
  • Be comfortable reading and writing in English
    • If you would like to improve your basic reading, writing, and speaking skills, our Adult Literacy program can help.

Ready to Get Started?

To be considered for the program, applicants will successfully complete an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, followed by an in-person interview.

  1. Read through the Frequently Asked Questions (see below) about Career Online High School.
  2. Take the Are You Ready? survey.
  3. Once you complete the survey, a library staff member will email you with details on how to enroll in the Part 1: Prerequisite Course. The prerequisite course must be completed in 2 weeks or less.
  4. Once you complete the required Part 1: Prerequisite Course, a library staff member will contact you to schedule a Scholarship Interview.
