The Livermore Public Library provides tax information and basic tax forms during tax season. Please check back for updates on tax services and which tax forms are available at the library. See below for tax-related resources and information:

Important Dates

Tax Forms

The following pre-printed federal and state tax forms and instruction booklets will be available at our library locations while supplies last. Forms will arrive in late-January or early-February. Please call the library for more information 925-373-5505.
- Federal forms 1040 and 1040-SR (English and Spanish)
- California form 540
- California form 540 2EZ (English and Spanish)
- California form 540 NR
- California form 3514 (English and Spanish)

Free Tax Preparation Resources

2026 AARP Foundation Tax Preparation at Civic Center Library

AARP Tax-Aide is returning to Livermore Public Library! Trained Tax-aide volunteers will be available to assist individuals filing their taxes on Thursdays, starting February 5 and ending on April 9, 2026.

Appointments are in the Board Room at Civic Center, 1188 S. Livermore Ave.
✔ Pre-registration only - sign-ups begin January 2026

Make an appointment with library staff at all three library locations, by emailing lib@livermoreca.gov or by calling 925-373-5505.

Tri-Valley Career Center and VITA program

Tri-Valley Career Center and VITA program offer FREE TAX ASSISTANCE to individuals and families who earned $75,000 or less in 2025 regardless of age. It is a Drop-off Virtual service. Click above link for more information regarding process.

Internal Revenue Service - IRS Free File

Allows you to prepare and file your federal income tax online for free.

Books

Printing

Each of our library locations has access to free Wi-Fi, computers, printing and copying services. Scanning and faxing is available in the Copy Center at Civic Center Library.

Each Livermore library branch has black and white printing. Civic Center Library also has color printing. Wireless printing is available only at the Civic Center Library. More information can be found here.

Printing Costs

$0.10 per page for black and white prints
$0.25 per page for color prints (Civic Center Library only)
