• Why did you change the catalog?

  We want to provide the best services possible to our community. The new catalog has a better search, provides the option for users to keep track of their reading and allows users to discover titles in new ways. Contact library staff for help with any of the new catalog features.

• How do I reset my PIN?

  To reset your PIN, go to the Login page. Click the Forgot your PIN link. On the Forgot your PIN page, enter your barcode. Click Send. In a few seconds, an email will be sent to the email address associated with your account. Open the email and click the link to launch your browser. On the Reset PIN page, enter your barcode. Enter a new PIN, and then confirm it by typing it again. Click Save.

• Why can’t I create a username?

  There may be a problem with your birthdate in the library's records. Please contact library staff for assistance with this. Additionally, in the United States, patrons under the age of 13 are not allowed to enter free text in compliance with COPPA. That includes creating your own username, so that's why we provide dropdown lists to create a username.

• Why can’t I login? I didn’t change my username or password.

  Please contact library staff if you are having difficulties accessing your account.

• How do I place a hold from the search results?

  Log in to your account. Enter some keywords and run your search. Find the title you want. Titles with at least one copy in the library show Available. To see the current status of all copies of the item, click the availability details link. Click the Place a Hold button. In the Place a Hold popup, select the branch where you’d like to pick up the title. The default location is your home library or the one you specified on your Preferences page as your preferred location. Click the Confirm Hold button.

• How do I place a hold from the title’s details page?

  Log in to your account. Find the title you’d like to place a hold on by searching or browsing the catalog. Go to its details page by clicking its title. The details page shows all the formats of the title held by the library. To see the location and current status of each available copy of your selected format, click the Availability by Location link. Click the Place a Hold button.

  Select the branch where you’d like to pick up the title. The default location is your home library or the one you specified on your Preferences page as your preferred location. Click the Confirm Hold button.

• How do I renew my borrowed items?

  Use the My Account drop-down to access Checked Out under My Borrowing. Once you are on your Checked Out page, use the checkboxes to select the desired titles and then click Renew.

• What happened to my "my lists"?

  The titles you saved were not lost. You can import all the items from your wish list onto your For Later shelf. Visit your For Later shelf, and then click the Import button to import your wish lists from the old catalog. This is a one-time process, and then you can move items to other shelves or lists as needed.

• What if I don't want to set up a BiblioCommons account?

  If you decide that our new library catalog just isn't for you, you can still manage your account online in the Classic Catalog. Simply log in using your library account number and PIN. The link will always be available in our website's footer.

• How do I unregister from BiblioCommons? I don’t want to use this third-party service anymore.

  Please provide your username and library card number and library staff will unregister your BiblioCommons account. We will notify you when the task is complete.
