Braille and Talking Book Library
The Braille and Talking Book Library (BTBL) has braille and audio book titles similar to what you would find at your public library. BTBL also offers magazines, movies, newspapers and more! Services are free to all eligible readers. Books (and the equipment needed to use the library's audio books) are mailed postage-free to and from library patrons. Eligible readers include Northern California residents who cannot read standard print material in the usual manner due to visual or physical disability.
California's Library Services for People with Print Disabilities
In association with the Library of Congress, California's Library Services for People with Print Disabilities provides free Braille and audio books, magazines and playback equipment to all eligible Californians unable to read standard print. Follow the link to find your local braille and talking book library and sign up for free library service.
Telecommunications for Deaf and Disabled
The Telecommunications for Deaf and Disabled provide access to basic telephone service for Californians who have difficulty using the telephone. If you have limitations hearing or speaking, a specially-trained Communications Assistant (CA) can relay telephone conversations for all of your calls.
Call the California Relay Service to reach the Civic Center Library, the Rincon Library, or the Springtown Library. Dial 711 or 1-800-735-2929 TTY.
