The Livermore Public Library and the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) will host a field trip to Sycamore Grove Park, located at 1051 Wetmore Road on Saturday, July 16, 2022 (and Saturday, August 6, 2022). The event will run from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
During the field trip, librarians will provide storytimes and crafts. LARPD Rangers will lead nature-themed activities throughout the day. Attendees may participate in any of the guided activities, or they may explore the park on their own. Participants of all ages are welcome.
Sycamore Grove Park is an 847-acre open space park located in south Livermore. There is a network of trails through Sycamore Grove Park that can accommodate many types of travelers and explorers. The Arroyo del Valle Trail through the park is paved and suitable for strollers and bicycles. Other features of the park include a native plant garden, scenic viewpoints, and a pond where wildlife sightings are common.
Through a generous donation from the Friends of the Livermore Public Library, there will be free bus transportation for the community. Space on the bus is limited, so participants interested in the free transportation must register in advance. Please see staff at any library information desk or call 925-373-5505 to sign up. Using the bus is not required to attend the program. Participants who do not use the bus transportation need not register. However, there is a $5 daily parking fee per vehicle for anyone who chooses to park in the Sycamore Grove parking lot.
