The Livermore Public Library and the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) are hosting a monthly Summer Science program at the Del Valle Visitor Center, located at 7000 Del Valle Road.
Children will learn about fish and the Japanese art of gyotaku. Attendees will enjoy a story read by a librarian, then an educational activity provided by an EBRPD ranger. Space is limited, so registration is required. Parents may register their children at any library info desk or by calling 925-373-5505. Registration opens four weeks before each program.
A nominal parking fee of $6.00 usually applies to enter Del Valle Regional Park. The EBRPD and the Regional Parks Foundation have provided a limited number of free parking passes for the event. For more information, please contact Librarian Caitlyn Lung at 925-373-5576.
The Summer Reading Program, sponsored by the Friends of the Livermore Library, is happening through August 17. All ages are encouraged to participate in the summer reading program. Participants who read and log their minutes have the opportunity to win prizes. Help us meet our community reading goal of 3 million minutes.
