Create a science project and share it with the community. For children of all ages. Register by October 10, 2024, at https://tinyurl.com/LPLScience2024
At the event, children will have a chance to present their projects and listen to a talk by nuclear engineer Perry Chodash from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Perry Chodash received his B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and his PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He conducted his doctoral research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), where he set a limit on the nuclear excitation by electronic transition (NEET) rate in U-235. After completing his PhD, he joined LLNL as a postdoc and worked on validating a computer model of a nuclear reactor. Perry currently runs simulations using some of the world’s largest supercomputers.
