Safe Banking for Adult Seniors – Identifying, Avoiding Scams

Community members are invited to attend information literacy programs designed to help attendees be more informed and prepared for their financial lives. Both classes are free and will be held at the Civic Center Library, located at 1188 South Livermore Avenue. No registration is required to attend these sessions:

  • Safe Banking for Seniors – Identifying and Avoiding Scams
    Date: October 5, 2024
    Time: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    Location: Community Rooms A & B
    Understand, recognize, and avoid financial fraud, which disproportionately affects older individuals. This session will be facilitated by Lynell Bevels, Community Lending Officer at Umpqua Bank.
  • Understanding and Preparing Your Credit for Home Buying
    Date: October 26, 2024
    Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    Location: Storytime Room
    Learn how one’s credit affects large purchase planning, such as buying a home, and how to build it safely for this significant life event. This session will be facilitated by Jule Dildine, Napa - Bel Aire Branch Manager at Umpqua Bank.
