High school seniors are invited to attend a free presentation and workshop on “Writing a Successful College Application Essay”. Jackie Stamps, a local independent college admissions advisor, will explain what college admissions departments look for in an application essay, alert students to potential pitfalls and common mistakes to avoid, and give strategies for composing a distinctive essay that colleges will notice. She will discuss the Common App essay as well as the UC Personal Insight Questions, discuss how the two differ, and how to write an impactful supplemental essay. One lucky participant will also win an individual 1:1 session with Jackie at a future date to help review their essays.
