The Livermore Public Library and the Livermore Filipino-American Organization will co-host a parol making workshop via Zoom on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Parols, ornamental, star-shaped lanterns from the Philippines, are displayed during the holiday season. A limited number of parol making kits are available at the Civic Center Library, while supplies last. Registration is required to receive a parol making kit and the workshop link; to register, please call (925) 373-5505. Each kit contains the supplies needed to make a small parol (bamboo sticks, dowel pegs, rubber bands, glue stick, cellophane sheets, tissue sheets, rubber bands, strings, and cardstock paper). Participants will need to supply their own glue and scissors. The parol making kits are provided courtesy of the Livermore Filipino-American Organization.
