Library Haiku Contest

The Livermore Public Library will celebrate National Haiku Writing Month in February 2024 by holding a Library Haiku Contest from Feb.1 – Feb. 29. The contest is open to participants of all ages. Registration is not necessary to participate.

To enter the contest, write a haiku about the Livermore Public Library. Email your name, age, and your haiku(s) to beangelo@livermoreca.gov with the subject line LIBRARY HAIKU CONTEST.

One winning haiku will be selected in each of the following age groups: Kids (ages 5-11), Teens (ages 12-17), and Adults (ages 18+). The winning haikus will be engraved on custom wooden plaques and displayed in the Civic Center Library. The writers of the best haikus will also each win a $30 gift card to Towne Center Books. Submissions must be received by 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29. There is no limit on the number of haikus a person can submit. One prize per person.

Photographs and film taken by Library representatives in Library facilities or at Library-sponsored events are to be used solely for Library educational, promotional, and publicity purposes.
