Poetry/Art Project

Community Outreach Pop-up with Livermore Cultural Arts Vision and Cynthia Patton, Livermore Poet Laureate

A poetry and art project designed to appeal to a wide-range of individuals of all ages to help gather feedback for the Livermore Cultural Arts Vision. This activity will involve creating a short, heart-based poem and then making paper beads—a craft long practiced in Central and South America, Europe, and Africa. Cynthia Patton, Livermore Poet Laureate and community outreach artist will be facilitating.

Livermore Cultural Arts Vision is a citywide, multi-phase project that will explore how we can continue investing in new and existing opportunities for cultural art programs, services, and public art.

Cynthia J. Patton is an attorney, activist, author, educator, and founder of the nonprofit, Autism A to Z. Her award-winning work has appeared in Across An Aqueous Moon: Travels in Autism, fifteen anthologies, numerous publications, her blog, An Unplanned Life, and onstage. She serves as the City of Livermore’s Poet Laureate and is completing another poetry collection as well as a memoir on her unconventional journey to motherhood.
