Then & Now Livermore Stories: From Livermore to Snezhinsk, Our Russian Sister City

Former Livermore Mayor Cathie Brown will present the story of how Snezhinsk, Russia, became a Sister City to Livermore. As part of the Russian nuclear program, Snezhinsk was a closed city between 1957, when it was founded, and 1991. During that period, it was known as Kasli-2 (1957–9), Chelyabinsk-50 (1959–66), and Chelyabinsk-70 (1966–93). In 1993 it was given its present name.
