Senait Mesfin Piccigallo, author of You’re in America – Now What? 7 Steps to Integrate with Ease and Joy, will facilitate an interactive workshop designed to help immigrants learn to embrace their unique culture while integrating to the United States. This program will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms (1188 S. Livermore Ave).  Participants are encouraged to wear their own unique cultural attire to the program. 

In the workshop, Piccigallo will share her own experiences with preserving her culture and building community in a new country. Through discussions, group exercises, and story sharing, this workshop will help participants:

• Understand cultural integration
• Explore individuality vs. community
• Understand how and why it is important to share one’s unique culture with the larger community
• Learn how to collaborate with others and become a leader

The Summer Reading Program is happening through August 16, 2023. Help us meet our community reading goal of 3 million minutes! All ages are encouraged to join.
