Young readers may practice their reading with the library’s teen volunteers. New readers may have a story read to them or read to the volunteer. Older readers may help improve their reading comprehension by discussing a book they have read with a volunteer.

Reading Buddies are available in the Youth Room at Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Avenue, through August 16. Volunteers are available Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. No appointment is needed. Drop-ins welcome. For more information call 925-373-5502.

The Summer Reading Program is happening through August 16. Help us meet our community reading goal of 3 million minutes! All ages are encouraged to join.
