History Book Club

Code Girls by Liza Mundy is the April book for the History Book Club. Join in person at the Civic Center Library in the Board Room or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88607174362 on April 18 at 7 p.m.

Documents the pivotal contributions of more than 10,000 American women who served as codebreakers during World War II, detailing how their efforts shortened the war, saved countless lives and enabled their subsequent careers, in an account that also reveals the strict practice of secrecy that nearly erased their efforts from history. –the publisher.

The History Book Club reads nonfiction books that focus on some aspect of history, broadly defined. This includes traditional political and military history, as well as social, cultural, and economic history. It does not include contemporary history that blends into modern political issues. Members will select future books by vote.

History Book Club meetings take place on the third Tuesday of the month and continue to be held in the hybrid format. Meetings are led by volunteer Book Club Coordinator Curt Covey.
