NEW! History Book Club

The Livermore Public Library announces the launch of the History Book Club, a new book club for adults. The club’s first meeting will take place on October 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.

Attendees may participate in this hybrid meeting remotely via Zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88607174362) or in person in the Civic Center Library Board Room. Registration is not required to attend the meeting. The first book club selection is The Year 1000: What Life Was Like at the Turn of the Last Millennium by Robert Lacey and Danny Danziger. Future History Book Club meetings will take place on the third Tuesday of the month and continue to be held in the hybrid format. Meetings will be led by volunteer Book Club Coordinator Curt Covey.

The History Book Club will read nonfiction books that focus on some aspect of history, broadly defined. This includes traditional political and military history, as well as social, cultural, and economic history. It does not include contemporary history that blends into modern political issues. Members will select future books by vote.
