Then & Now: A Railroad History of Livermore

The Livermore Public Library and the Livermore Heritage Guild present Then & Now: Livermore Stories, a local history lecture series. Alan Frank will present a program entitled “Parallel Paths: A Railroad History of Livermore” on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Storytime Room of the Civic Center Library. Alan Frank is the author of the 2019 book Depot: A History of the Railroad in Livermore. Mr. Frank’s new book is Parallel Paths: A Railroad History of Livermore. Livermore and railroads emerged at the same time in 1869, and their interests developed in parallel for the next fifty years or so. Since then, their interests have diverged, though never completely. In recent years parallel paths are again developing. No registration is required for this free event.
