Lumberjanes Book Club for Teens

Teens  in grades 6 – 12 will get a free copy of Lumberjanes v. 1 upon registration. Read it, then talk about it at the July 21 meeting. Space is limited, so registration is required. Sign up by going to any Livermore Public Library info desk or call (925) 373-5505.

Lumberjanes is a graphic novel by ND Stevenson, Grace Ellis, Shannon Watters, and Gus A. Allen which is set in a summer camp plagued by supernatural monsters. Its themes of adventure, friendship, and individuality will appeal to many readers. Lumberjanes vol. 1 won two Eisner Awards in 2015 for Best New Series and Best Publication for Teens.

The Summer Reading Program, sponsored by the Friends of the Livermore Library, is happening through August 17. All ages are encouraged to participate in the summer reading program. Participants who read and log their minutes have the opportunity to win prizes. Help us meet our community reading goal of 3 million minutes.
