Shibori Tie-Dye Craft for Teens

Teens will learn about the Japanese art of shibori, including its history and techniques. All participants will receive a handkerchief to fold and dye using the shibori techniques that they learn about in the program. Teens may also bring one additional garment to dye, if they choose to. All fabric will be dyed using traditional indigo blue dye.

Registration is required for this free event. Teens going into grades 6-12 are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Teen Programming Librarian Caitlyn Lung at 925-373-5576.

Don't forget the Library’s Summer Reading Program, sponsored by the Friends of the Livermore Library is happening through August 17th. Teens in grades 6-12 are encouraged to participate in Read Beyond the Beaten Path. Play the game by reading and earning prizes. Keep track of the amount of time you spend reading on the Beanstack app or a paper gameboard available from the Library. Earn badges as you log reading minutes to earn prizes. To finish the game, collect 8 badges by reading and completing activity badges. There's also a chance to win one of four bonus prizes of a $50 online shopping spree. Help us meet our community reading goal of 3 million minutes. And don't forget the Minutes to Win It school competition.
