Attend an afternoon of guitar and song with musicians Mark and Cindy Lemaire on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. This in-person program will be held at the Civic Center Library and is free to attend.
Known for his unique guitar style, Mark Lemaire incorporates masterful fingerpicking, slap-and-tap harmonics, hand percussion, and a delicate touch that goes straight to one’s heart. While Mark’s solo guitar pieces stand as complete statements, his harmonies with Cindy Lemaire are so perfectly matched that they seem like two people with one voice.
The folk duo’s audiences do a lot of laughing, but many are also moved to tears, leaving shows smiling and fulfilled. The material runs from tongue-in-cheek songs about married life, to stories of the strange surprise of middle age creeping up on everyone. The music ranges from subtle, pin-drop delicate solo guitar to raucous sing-alongs. While the music is beautiful, the experience of simply being together is a key part of the afternoon.
The couple has toured the world, performing from New Zealand to Scotland, Sweden to Canada, as well as all over the U.S. Visit http://marklemaire.com for more information about this remarkable music duo.
The Friends of the Livermore Public Library have generously underwritten this program as part of the Friends Authors and Arts Series.
