Then & Now: Livermore Stories - Call the Sheriff!

Then & Now is a local history lecture series co-presented by the Livermore Heritage Guild and the Livermore Public Library.

Steve Minniear will present a Then & Now program entitled “Call the Sheriff! The Alameda County Sheriff and Law Enforcement in the Livermore Valley" on Wednesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Storytime Room located at 1188 S. Livermore Ave.

Outside the town boundaries, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office provides law and order. Hear stories about desperados, cattle thieves, highway robberies, skullduggery, and kidnapping in the Amador and Livermore valleys from 1850 to the present.

Registration is not required to attend this free program for adults.

It's Summer Learning time through August 4, 2026! Register at Livermore.beanstack.org or on the Beanstack app. Paper gameboards are also available at all Livermore Library locations. Everyone receives a free book just for signing up! Participants who track their reading and activities will earn raffle tickets towards drawings for prizes. Thanks to Friends of the Livermore Library and our other partners for making the Summer Learning program and events possible.
