Armchair Travelers: “Traversing the Basque Countryside,” Presented by Juls Vistnes

Juls Vistnes will present an Armchair Travelers program on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Storytime Room, 1188 S. Livermore Ave. Her presentation is entitled "Traversing the Basque Countryside,” and it showcases photos and stories from her 2025 trip to the region. Registration is not required to attend this free program for adults.

In September 2025, Juls and Rick Vistnes explored the Basque Region for 10 days in a rental car. They combed and nibbled their way through the seaside cities of San Sebastian, Hondarribia, and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, voyaged into the Pyrenees, and marveled at the art and architecture of Bilbao. Juls will share their experiences ordering tapas like locals and navigating walled cities, relaxing in town squares with Basque families, and eating lunch with a pony (Yes, a pony.). Juls will share tips on the best ways to get around and stretch your Euros.
