Thursday Classic Mystery Book Club

For the March meeting, the group will read “Death on the Nile” by Agatha Christie. Join the discussion on Thursday, March 19 at 2 p.m. in Community Room B, Civic Center Library, 1188 S. Livermore Ave. Please note the change in meeting location for this meeting. Registration is not required to attend the meeting.

Book summary: Linnet Ridgeway is young, beautiful, smart, and rich. On her honeymoon cruise up the Nile in Egypt, tensions mount. Several of the passengers are harboring dark secrets, and before long a murder is discovered — but the obvious suspect can’t possibly be guilty. Another death soon follows. Fortunately, Hercule Poirot is on hand to sort through the bewildering clues. Was it the pompous German doctor? The New York financier? The offensive young communist? And who stole Linnet’s priceless pearl necklace? This is one of Christie’s cleverest and most perplexing mysteries!
