Sculpting Workshop with Stephanie Thames (Part 1)

Artist Stephanie Thames returns to Civic Center Library to lead a 2-part sculpting workshop! Registration is required to attend both workshops in the 2-part series on Jan. 24 and 31.

On the first Saturday of the workshop participants will first be given several, short writing prompts to help cultivate creativity. They will then be given clay and access to tools to create an organic, small sculpture of their liking. Each piece will be left at the end of the day to sufficiently dry until the following Saturday, Jan. 31. On the second Saturday of the workshop, participants will paint dried pieces to their liking and be able to take home to enjoy.

Stephanie has exhibited in multiple Bay Area group shows at the Gearbox Gallery in Oakland, CA. and is a recipient of the 2019 Jan Hart-Shuyers Creative Merit Award, in conjunction with The Art of Living Black. She is an emerging painter and sculptor who is deeply rooted in spirituality, and currently creates in clay as part of her spiritual healing process. Stephanie earned her Masters of Spirituality and Culture from Holy Names University and has also studied Transpersonal Psychology.
