For the September meeting, the group will read two mystery novels by Rex Stout, The Red Box and The Silent Speaker. Join the discussion on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. in the Civic Center Library Board Room, 1188 S. Livermore Ave. Registration is not required to attend the meeting.

Book Summary: A grand master of the form, Rex Stout is one of America’s greatest mystery writers, and his literary creation Nero Wolfe is one of the greatest fictional detectives of all time. The Red Box is Book 4 in the Nero Wolfe series, and The Silent Speaker is Book 11. The books do not have to be read in series order. They are stand-alone mystery novels.
