A free community celebration to kick start the Summer Learning Program! A day of festivities including a talk by graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang who is the bestselling writer and artist behind American Born Chinese, Boxers & Saints, the Avatar: The Last Airbender comics, and many other iconic works. He and illustrator LeUyen Pham join forces for one of his latest works Lunar New Year Love Story - available now.

Come learn about Yang's art and process, as well as meet him for a special book signing immediately following his talk! Yang’s books will be available for purchase from Towne Center Books on-site at this event.

Level up at the Library! All ages can join the fun and sign up (if you haven't already) for Summer Learning at Livermore.beanstack.org or on the Beanstack app. Paper gameboards are also available at all Livermore Library locations. Summer Learning runs until August 6, 2025. Participants who track their reading and activities have a chance to win prizes. Everyone receives a free book just for signing up!
