A free community celebration to kick start the Summer Learning Program! A day of festivities including a talk by graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang, an Elephant and Piggie storytime, ranger talk, crafts, face painting, and more. Attendees of all ages can also register for the Summer Learning Program and pick up their free book just for signing up.

Schedule:

10:15 a.m.
- Elephant and Piggie Storytime
- Comic Drawing Class for Grades 1-3 (space limited, arrive early for ticket)
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Hands-on fun with Quest Science Center
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Face Painting
12 – 2 p.m.
- Otter Pops
- Tabletop Games
1:15 p.m.
- LARPD Ranger Talk on Mushrooms – Power Up: Fact or Fiction? (for adults)
2 p.m.
- Talk by graphic novelist Gene Luen Yang. Yang’s books will be available for purchase from Towne Center Books
- Learn Filipino Games with the Livermore Filipino-American Organization
- Improv Games with SPARC Theater
All Day
- Mobile Visitor Center from East Bay Regional Park District
- Star Wars Costumed Characters
- Water Play Area
- Mario Crafts

Thanks to Friends of the Livermore Library and our other partners for making Summer Learning possible. Additional partners include Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, Livermore Disc Golf Club, Livermore Filipino-American Organization, Papa Murphy's Pizza, Quest Science Center, Open Heart Kitchen, and East Bay Regional Park District.
